Thank you Captain Knight. I’m honored. In my campaign so far I’ve gathered a lot of endorsements from states. But it’s the words of the men and women I’ve worked side by side with building resources and opportunities that really resonate. I was told yesterday that the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC) Crisis Negotiators team has voted to endorse me on this road and it meant the world.
From their letter:
“The Metropolitan Law Enforcement Council (MetroLEC) Crisis Negotiation Team is proud to formally endorse Chief Ronald Sellon for the position of 4th Vice President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP).
Chief Sellon has shown steadfast dedication and outstanding leadership as Control Chief,
managing our regional SWAT Team, Crisis Negotiation Team, Search and Rescue, and K-9 Officers. His unwavering support for these specialized units—often on-call around the clock— was vital in handling high-pressure situations, many involving armed suspects. Under his guidance, these teams have successfully saved lives and peacefully resolved numerous tense incidents.
Chief Sellon remains a distinguished member of MetroLEC's Executive Board, actively
supporting and advancing our mission. He consistently promotes and encourages his department members to participate in various roles within MetroLEC, including serving on SWAT teams and as Crisis Negotiators, among other essential components.
The Crisis Negotiation Team greatly appreciates Chief Sellon’s longstanding dedication and his commitment to enhancing training opportunities for law enforcement personnel at all levels. His leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment make him an excellent candidate for this prestigious position within the IACP”
